Arden Holiday Cottages are 8 Miles from Dumfries town centre, 5 minutes off the main
A75.
Getting to Arden Holiday Cottages by car: -
From South: - Follow M6 North. At the end of M6 after Carlisle continue on A74 until
Gretna then follow A75 to Stranraer. Continue along A75 around Dumfries on the by-pass.
6 miles after Dumfries take right turn to Shawhead following the signs for Barnsoul
Campsite. At Shawhead village continue to follows signs for campsite. We are located
2 miles from the village, third property on the left after the campsite.
From North: - From M74 South at junction 13 follow A702 to Thornhill where you will
join A76. From A76, 2 miles after Auldgirth take right turn to Irongray. Go straight
on through two cross roads and then right at T-Junction. You will pass Irongray Church
on your right. After 1 mile you will come to small bridge. Turn immediately left
after bridge sign posted Shawhead and we are 1 mile along this road, third property
on the right.
Arriving by air: - There are airports at Edinburgh, Glasgow and Prestwick
Arriving by train: - The nearest train station is Dumfries and there is a fast train
service from England to Glasgow via Dumfries.
Arriving by bus: - There are 3 buses a day from Dumfries to Shawhead and back. Mon
to Sat. A Ring and Ride service is available if booked on the previous day. Ring
